Microneedling with elysian

Microneedling is the latest in skin revitalization and is one of the most popular medspa procedures. This innovative treatment from Elysian Wellness & Aesthetics is a safe alternative to common skin resurfacing tools, such as lasers and dermal rollers, and has minimal downtime!
Microneedling not only helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also reduces uneven skin tone, acne scars, and stretch marks. It improves the skin’s overall appearance to give you a fresher, younger look.

What is Microneedling?

Microneeding treatment involves taking microscopic needles and penetrating the skin with the purpose of creating “micro-injuries”, kicking it into healing mode. Collagen and elastin production are increased, which produces new skin growth and improves the elasticity and texture of the skin. Rejuvenate skin from the inside out! At Elysian, we offer both traditional microneedling with FDA-approved Skin Pen ™ and RF (radio-frequency) microneedling, which adds radio-frequency heat to help increase skin tightening and gives overall better results. It’s like microneedling on steroids!

What is microneedling and what are the benefits?

Microneedling, also known as collagen-induction therapy, helps boost collagen production and improve skin tone and texture by creating microinjuries to the skin, causing the body’s natural inflammatory response to be activated, flooding the treated area with growth factors to heal itself.

Who is a good candidate for microneedling?

Anyone who is looking to improve fine lines and wrinkles, skin tightness and texture, reduce acne scarring, stretch marks, surgical scars, or any other scarring. There are relatively few risks and most people are a good candidate. Persons who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have eczema, open sores, or active infections in the potential treatment area should avoid microneedling until healed/resolved.

What is the healing process?

Social downtime is typically 24-48 hours. After the treatment, you want to wait at least 4 hours before washing your face. Some redness can occur and usually lasts about 24 hours.

How is microneedling different from DIY dermal rolling

Skin care professionals use more advanced skin pen devices that are FDA-approved. DIY devices are less than 1mm deep to prevent injury and scarring and just rolls across the skin. Microneedling devices add vibration and adjustable penetrating depths for different skin areas/surfaces to prevent injury and scarring and improve overall results. Be safe and book your microneedling with one of our skin care professionals!

Does it hurt?

We use topical numbing cream to increase comfort during the procedure, which takes about 20-30 minutes. After the procedure, most patients describe the feeling as like a windburn.
